Traditional Book: Bizarre Summits
The objective of this assignment was to take the familiar concept of a traditionally printed book, and create a publication that stands out amongst the rest.
I selected an article by John Long, a long time adventurer and contributing editor of the magazine "Rock and Ice". The illustrations are in a warm sepia tone, adding a lovely contrast to the black type.
I used photo references and created the illustrations in the Procreate application on my iPad. I extensively researched the regions that Long speaks of in his writing to make sure my representations were accurate.
I have been an outdoor adventurer my whole life, and was delighted to take on this challenge. All of the layout and type work was done in Adobe Indesign.
