MATERIAL: LEATHER & RAFIA
IDEA:
The idea was to make Move On of existing Old handbags which were selling well for 2-3 years. The thought went on to redesign the old bags in new material like Rafia that will make the bag look interesting. I also used a new laser design which was to give the bags a vintage look, as these leather bags are made in washed leather. My focus was also on the functional part of the bags, therefore, bags have lots of pockets here and there. I also made a range of multi-functional/ pocket bags.

TECHNIQUE:
Bags are first made in Naked leather, then the bags go for a wash. The final colour/ pigment is added now, then washed and tumbled to get the distressed look. Later, it is chemically treated so that the colour does not release. Finally dried and buffed with wax to give a like look and touch feel.

For the Bags with Rafia and see-through lining, the Naked leather parts were cut first and sent for the washing process as described above, then stitched together.
