Benefit Gala
This event began with a blank canvas of a downtown parking lot that needed to be transformed into an magnificent venue for a high end New York fashion show. Not only were we tasked with working with the city to remove power lines that were going to disconnect ATM machines in the area (and had to locate the owners of these) we worked with fashion designer Zac Posen's team in NY to put on a fashion show that would exceed their expectations. Since this was a benefit event, we wanted to create something different than the typical "purchase a table for ten" atmosphere and therefore came up with the idea of individual lounge areas. Each lounge area was staffed with a concierge who brought tapas and drinks to the guests throughout the evening. This brought on another hurdle of the runway and how do we build a runway so that all the guests (especially our VIP's) get prime seating. Voila! We'll make the runway int he shape of a Z and it will move throughout the entire space. Hiring the perfect team was key as it always is in events. From the production, tenting, catering, rentals, sponsors to a host of volunteers, this event went off without a glitch including working with the city on the 10 day load-in schedule for an event that was the night before a Rolling Stones concert in the same are of town, where road closures would take place the following day. A perk from that was that since we had Lizzy Jagger as a celebrity model, Mick Jagger decided to pop in for a visit during the event. A VERY exciting night!!!
