Logan McCormick
Reflection
When brainstorming ideas for my personal logo I wanted to create a logo that would be fast, swift, and wild.  I used other logos for ideas such as Adidas and the 2000 Sydney Olympics logo. The first closed shape that I had my logo be based around was a running shoe. This is because I run Cross- Country and Track. In the first layer of my logo I had the shoe and then in the second layer I used the pen tool and put my initials LM into the base of the shoe. The next shape I added into my logo was a swift but wild zig-zag like shape.  This shape gave the shoe a feeling of flow and movement . The last layer that I added into my logo was the three lines coming off the shoe that grew smaller as they went down the shoe. I got this idea from the Adidas logo to make my logo more athletic.
When brainstorming the colors of my logo I decided that I wanted to use a hue of green.  I chose green because it a very popular color right now. Everyone wants to be green and go green; this color is a very common color in nature which relates it to running. For my next color I wanted to use a color that would stand out well with green such as red. However, I did not want to use the complimentary color of green because they would create Christmas colors. So I used the next color over which was orange, which also happens to be my favorite color. In the end I used 2 hues of green one light and one darker, and then I use a bright vibrant orange.  On the shoe I used the gradient tool to bring together the two greens. On the zig- zag I used the brush tool for the outline of the shape giving the logo more movement.  Overall I thought the logo came out very well.
