During the design process, the most important aspect to me is attention to detail. Every single feature in a design should evoke emotion or thought for the audience, therefore every aspect needs to have emotion and thought put into it; you cannot expect to get something out of your work if you didn’t put it in initially. I feel that in modern communication, it has become increasingly common to let a device design for us to an extent - the time and effort is put in but that it is never fully communicated. This is where my passion for hand-crafted design processes stems from.

My interest in attention to detail also means I work in an orderly fashion when designing both hand-crafted and digital work. Accuracy is key in creating a successful piece of communication design as it allows the audience to process it how you intend. It also gives room for more interpretations to grow,as it is in the most simplistic form. I feel that hand-craft has a large extent of accuracy, but also a personal feel and an ‘edginess’ a lot of digital processes cant.

Another main aspect of the design process that entices me is the use of colour scheme.
As a designer I extensively enjoy experimenting with the use of both contrasting and harmonising colours which has given me a ‘good eye’ for what colours work against each other and when certain colours are appropriate.
