Birds of Veer Dam

I visited the Veer Dam during the first week of April 2014. I knew all the migratory birds had flown back to their natives; but as a photographer, there's always something to shoot. I reached the backwaters at 6:00 in the morning and started taking pictures.

I first saw a few Spoonbills and Spot-Billed Ducks all swimming nearby to each other. I couldn't take pictues of the ducks, they were quite far. Around 7:15ish, I saw a lone Wooly-Necked Stork flying above but couldn't shoot him. A few minutes later I saw a couple Terns flying around.

The water in the lake had receded substantially; and there were few birds around. By 8, it started getting really hot. There's not a single tree in the vicinity which seem to aggrevate the heat. However, I enjoyed this too walking around the lake taking pictures :)

I shall visit this place next year January 2015. Hope to spot some fine species.
