Maui was probably one of my favorite spots ever! Everyday was spent in nature, whether it was at magnificent beaches or breathtaking mountain ridges. To get around in Maui to see these beautiful places, its advisable to have a 4x4 wheel car, since the roads can be quite bumpy. And let me tell you, this Jeep Wrangler we had was a DREAM. It was so much fun driving around in this massive vehicle!
On our first day on Maui, we drove the 'Road to Hana'. An absolute must do! The route itself takes about 2-3h, depending on traffic. But you can easily spend the whole day exploring the waterfalls, scenery and small hikes along the road. I didn't expect Maui to be so green, but there were lush gigantic monsteras eeeeeeverywhere! A dream for plant lovers for sure.
Maui is not only incredibly green, but also beautifully blue. The water is CLEAR! And of course, sunset surfing is THE thing to do. The water is so warm that you don't need a wetsuit at all. Just make sure to wear water shoes, since the bottom of the ocean is quite rocky
I've always been a morning person, and waking up in Maui is well rewarded. Every sunrise was just magical. So make sure to set your alarm and chase that epic sunrise!
