Amazing Animals
The purpose of this project was to practice different styles of artwork based on a single animal. The final products included a logo design, a photorealistic drawing, a gesture or essence drawing, and a transformation sketch.
Vectorized Logo
Selection of Logo Ideas and Process
The logo went through many iterations and ideas. In the end, the logo that was chosen was meant to embody the mischievous nature of the raven while being a clean design. Although the ideation process took place on paper, the final iteration was made in Adobe Illustrator in order to get a very clean and professional look.
Photorealistic Drawing
This black and white photorealistic drawing was created on bristol board with a variety of soft and hard graphite pencils. The intention was to accurately capture the textures and lighting on the creature based off of a reference image. This project required patience and very careful observation.
Final Gesture Drawing
Selection of Gesture Drawings
The intention for the gesture drawing was to capture the essence of the creature. Many of the iterations were made on paper using a wide variety of tools of both wet and dry media.
This entire project had many components that took a lot of time to create. It practiced valuable skills in both digital and traditional mediums and required thoughtful iteration and ideation. The end results all captured different aspects of the raven and was a fun project to try different styles and ideas.
