The iris mechanism, a fascinating design, moves a slide parallel to the angle's bisector while all of its blades move back and forth in a straight line to simulate the opening and closing of the eye.
The earliest version was made from stiff, flexible plastic sheets and cardboard. 12 leaflets make up the iris mechanism.
Although it may be beautiful, it does not run smoothly since it has a lot of blades and suffers from high friction caused by the blades overlapping. Therefore, I had to redesign it and change the number of blades, bringing it down to 5 blades, which worked without a hitch.
