Moving Meditations - Pwnisher

On 30 july 2022, Clint, also known as Pwnisher, uploaded a new 3D Community Challenge video to his channel. I was instantly interested and decided to participate.

There where a lot of bumps along the way, but a month later, i finished a beauty of a project!

We where given a simple template with some rules and had to create our best, most creative 3D scene.
First things first, i needed a character. I wanted to try and create an astronaut, but it didn't quite work out as i wanted it to be. The rigging process took way too much effort and it still didn't look good nor convincing.
I left the character as it was and began working on the environment. I started building a mountain, which was also quite challenging knowing i never really knew how to create a mountain.
I played a bit with the mountain and brought my thoughts to reality. I created a simple environment in quite a short time and did some simple color editing in After Effects.

I used quite a lot of pre-made models because i knew i wouldn't have time to model everything on my own.
I added models and vegetation to bring it the picture more to life. I also changed the character to one that fitted more to the environment, conveniently it was already rigged and ready for the project.
After around 2 weeks of adding more models and working on the project, it started looking better. I decided it was time for a first render seeing how it would turn out.
I noticed the cloth simulation looked quite, weird, so i spend a couple of days fixing that. I messed around with the lightning, I later removed the temple entrance for a Tori. And did some tuning to the foilage.

Then i rerendered the project, which was going to be the final render. I only had 3 days left to finish the project.

I continued the project in After Effects and added a lens flare and added fake fog where needed. I also added some dirty lens overlay's and added fixed the colors with color correction. I added a shine and lastly added some suddle motion blur to give it more life.
And then, after a whole month of work, i finally submitted my entry....

After many bumps and problems that needed fixing, i had finally finished it!
In that month, i learned so much. I'm glad i participated in it, and i would do it again at the next challenge. Looking at you Clint!
