3D modelling: Intermediate

Created Using AutoDesk Maya.

This project file includes 3D models and animations that have been created more recently or with more experience than the others.

The actual development of this project can be found in "Existing Projects" in my portfolio.
This is a map I have created as an initial level design for a game in progress. The game is Portal Dodgeball, a traditional dodgeball game with some abstract physics. The game is being created as part of a Games Case Module in University.  For this project I designed and created various levels for the game, as well as assisting in some of the technical programming of C++.
These images also convey designs I created in Maya to present how the games themes should look for developing the game.  This theme is a graveyard theme, which will allow players to make cover out of the gravestones. After creating this design, I came up with the concept of using a skull for the dodgeballs to implement more of the theme into the design. If this map is to be developed, this feature will be included.

This image conveys the basic, untextured models that were created to make the level design. Through modelling the gravestones I learnt skills in the bevel tool in Maya which makes the tombstones look more rounded than pointy and unrealistic.
This is the textured version of the design which required multiple texturing techniques. I created my own texture for the wooden fences and the tombstones and then used a bump mapping to make them look more 3D and interactive. The grass was created using the hair texture which I feel I have vastly improved on within recent projects as I can confidently create grass and hair within a short time period. Additionally, I created a skybox to make the map look dark and gloomy just to add to the theme.
This map is jurassic themed which wont be implemented in the game until future developments and DLC. Although, I still designed the map for future development to convey how much potential the game has in regards to map choices.  Texturing the scales on the dinosaur was a new experience which aided my texturing skills.
This is a model I created of a building that I have previously lived in.  Through modelling this, I have learnt how to use new tools within maya that I had never used before. Additionally, it gave me an insight to modelling houses for real estate.
