Calibri type specimen

Calibri was designed for Microsoft by Lucas de Groot to take advantage of Microsoft's proprietary ClearType rendering technology.

The typeface won an award in the System Typefaces category at the Type Directors Club's 2005 Type Design Competition. Includes characters from Latin, Extended Scripts, Greek, and Latin Cyrillic. According to a Wichita State University study, Calibri was the most popular typeface for email, instant messaging, and presentations. It also got good results for use in text on web pages.

The study consisted of asking the participants to rate examples of text with different fonts.
