This poster is both a typographic exploration and metaphor about death.
Food choice and production is an ever-growing issue in the contemporary world. While I am an advocate of health and making "smart" decisions, the truth is that we're all eventually leaving this world. Whether you eat broccoli or poptarts, mortality is an inescapable reality.
The use of a clean, organic facade is juxataposed with the grey block type in the bottom corner to foreshadow this somewhat macabre idea.
And yes... I did in fact chew certain food items before creating the letterforms :)
