Dazed magazine exists to empower, entertain and educate tomorrow’s cultural leaders through radical fashion, agenda setting photography and fearless storytelling. Dazed magazine reflects the zeitgeist. From what started 30 years ago, Dazed magazine has morphed from a small zine into a global culture and fashion desstination, breaking all boundaries and has become a creative escape for insiration.

The new issue of Dazed is centered around the theme of authenticity, which required the creation of a concept that aligns to that theme. This new issue of the magazine required a written article, fashion editorial photography, a print cover and magazine spreads as well as social media posts, an online newsletter and a google advertisement.

The concept for this issue of DAZED is created based on the reflection of yourself through the way you dress. It explores the impact that social media has on the way people dress which affects how they see their own real reflection in the mirror. Therefore questioning which reflection are we actually dressing for? Our online self or real self. 

This concept was brought to life through fashion editorial photography of a model on the beach. Through dressing the model in unconventional and 'unnatural' styling at a natural location, creates and communicates the narrative of how unnatural people have become on apps which are created to share real life updates, moments and experiences. 

Roboto was used as the chosen typeface on all outputs for this magazine issue. Roboto was chosen due its modern aesthetic which aligns to the Dazed brand and target market.

The layout of the magazine takes a minimalistic approach, aligning to and communicating the theme of authenticity. This approach was achieved through the use of negative space within the compositions of all outputs
