Daily UI Challenge - Day 2

Not every design you do will be great. Admitting that is the first step towards becoming better. *UPDATED REDESIGN*

When I started developing this checkout form for Razer gaming, I tried to convince myself how great it was due to the aesthetic appeal...

However, as some colleagues had to remind me, aesthetics aren't everything in UI Design. You have to consider functionality and user experience as well. I'm extremely grateful that I have a network of other designs in my life that will constantly tell me the truth and help me become better over time.

The first mockup (seen in the top picture), ultimately was found as confusing to consumers - not knowing whether the Visa, PayPal and Amazon visuals were buttons they had to click on or not. Not only that but the color contrast was lacking so visually impaired consumers would have a difficult time separating buttons from the background of the form.

The following changes were made: improvement in contrast of colors, removal of excess visuals that didn't have a necessary impact on transactions, and improvement in overall hierarchy.

Overall, I'm extremely grateful I had the opportunity to work on this project and am confident this UI works well with Razer's current branding as well as increase the overall sales experience of the consumer, increasing trust and ultimately, a returning customer.

What are your thoughts?
