Reimagining the Family Photo

Reimagining the Family Photo
The source of the original photo, was from an old photo album my mom had kept. I felt nostalgic when working on this project, because it encompassed photos of my grandmother whom passed in 2018. For this project, I took old sepia-toned photos and colorized them using the neural filter colorize feature. I'm happy with the results, and will use this feature in future projects. These are old photographs of 'The Carrillo Family', which is my mom's maiden name. The first photograph is a picture of my mom and her brother when they were toddlers. The second photo is a photo of my grandmother holding her niece. In the first photo, the children are posing with a cake for their birthday. In the second photo, my grandmother holds her niece for the first time. These photos were taken in the 1960s-1970s, when my mom was still a child (She was born in 1966). The first photo was taken at a family home during a birthday party, the second taken in a family home in someone's bedroom. These photos were taken to preserve memories, and I was happy to modernize them with some color. I might do these with more photos and create a a large album for my mom. Although, next time I might get prints at Target or Costco, to keep costs low.
