'Breakthrough' is an illustrated journey through the mind of a disillusioned creative. When an art student comes to realise she has lost her passion in her chosen path, she suddenly finds herself in a strange dimension formed inside her mind. She must clear the obstacles that have made their home in her thoughts in order to escape, and in the process, she will gain her love for creating again. 

This novel was created as part of my final semester project at university. My aim was to visualise my personal journey of rediscovering my love for art and illustration, in a way that would pay tribute to my love of manga and graphic novels. I would hope that any creative, no matter what stage they are in their joruney, can resonate with my story and take inspiration from it. 

Two versions of the novel were printed. The pink cover is the 'standard' edition, while the blue cover is the 'limited' edition.

The blue limited edition features several different paper stocks, ranging from gloss, to smooth board, to textured rendering paper.
