The Capsule chair was my first project with the metal-workers in Dakar, Senegal. It was a challenging and exciting project, enhanced by the fact that we communicated with sketches a lot because language was a barrier. It was important for me to create a good work relationship with the team, so on this project I integrated many suggestions from the workers, and the result is an original collaborative piece. Bottle-cap weaving is a technique found in many West African countries, that is used mostly to create artifacts sold to tourists.
