A Double-Storey Container Home designed catering to the needs of small South-Asian families. The container dimensions are 40x8x8 ft. The model dimensions are 20x4x4 inches, and is made on a 1/2 inch scale where every foot is represented by half an inch. The house features one master bed, one kids room, 2 full sized bathrooms, living with dining room, a powder room, study, prayer room and laundry/storage area. The design focuses on four key notes: a full sized kitchen, ability to host staying guests, designated space for prayer, and a concept of segregation where the house layout is done such that specfified place for guests is cut off from the rest of the house; specifically areas mostly occupied by the women of the house. The designs makes use of pocket sliding doors to save space, a bed hidden under the staircase for any guests staying over, sofa cum bed etc.
