Forms in the Landscape

The former “Santa Fe University of Art and Design campus” redo to UNM Santa Fe Center for Technology, Design + Innovation (and Production Design Building) will keep the Visual Arts Complex (Legorreta Buildings), Benildus AHll, Greer Garson Theatre, Garson Studios, Fogleson Library, and the Driscoll Fitness Center. Implementing various connections that link the existing buildings that are going to be kept, multiple path scenarios were introduced to link all activities throughout the site. The paths curate the site. The generated shapes are produced to have different functions depending on their contrasting programs. The incorporated schools being general education, Rural Studies, Public Health, Art + Design, STEM, Digital Media, Renewable Energy, and Indigenous Studies are linked together by their own connections and a central hub that brings people in and generates a public space for all. The central space incorporated by art galleries, restaurants, and other retail space is sunken down in the ground. This action translates into a considerably more integrated relationship between the public and private spaces offering an enhanced experience for the visitors and the students.
