The below work is from my Sound Design Unit undertaken at the University of Canberra
From film to animation and games, the sound is an essential part of modern media, yet its importance is often overshadowed by our heavy bias for visual media. In this unit, we looked at the theory and practice of sound in digital media. Working with modern audio tools and techniques, we will develop the skills and knowledge needed for creating, editing and integrating digital audio for stand-alone and mixed media works.
Learning outcomes
After successful completion of this unit, I am able to:
1. Creatively plan and produce soundscapes and soundtracks in response to a brief;
2. Apply technical skills to record, edit, mix and process sound;
3. Critique and apply principles and techniques of sound composition and design; and
4. Reflect on and analyse sound as a communicative medium.

ASSIGNMENT #1 - Brief Interview
I was required to produce a 90 second interview with a subject, on an interpretation of the broad theme ‘something I’m passionate about’.

ASSIGNMENT #2 - Pre Production Plan
I was required to plan the production of a film soundtrack between two and three minutes in length based on a screenplay or an excerpt from a screenplay. I also submitted two pre-production documents - a spotting sheet and a schedule- with a copy of the script.
ASSIGNMENT #3 - Three Minute Soundtrack
I was required to produce a soundtrack based on the previous pre-production assignment.
