Art made for a local Art contest in my city (unfortunately I didn't win hahaha).
In this piece, by representing a girl dressed as the symbol animal of the city of Guarapari, the Guará, on one of the main local beaches - Praia do Morro - I sought to “bring fantasy to our common place”. Because thanks to our cultural references, we always seek fantastic escapism in other places and even other worlds. When we have a rich scenario around us to explore.
I let my cartoon style flow, which refers to animations, movies and comics. I used vibrant colors that together give a mystical aspect to this night scene. So I invite the receiver to imagine and fantasize about the story behind the illustration, inserting the symbol of the city - that we see every day - in a different context in a known and relatable environment.
