Miracle at Merion
Ben Hogan’s victory at the 1950 U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club, achieved 16 months after nearly losing his life in a car-bus crash, has mythic proportions, also due to the 213-yard shot into the 18th Green on the last regular round, forcing a play-off.

9 Majors
Hogan has nine career professional major championships and is one of only five players to have won all four majors (despite only playing once the Open).

The Match
In 1956, a casual bet between two millionaires leads to the arguably greatest private Golf match ever played: The two greatest pro golfers of the era - Byron Nelson and Ben Hogan - face the two top amateurs of the time - Harvie Ward and Ken Venturi.
