A neurodiverse lamp to give your mind a sense of peace.
Diversifly is a lamp designed to help different mental disorders. With 5 different colors that change through a touch sensor, each one is coded with a specific RGB code to help alleviate symptoms/issues one may have. There is an infrared light setting which then can be changed to midnight blue, then white, then warm/yellow, and lastly hot pink (for fun). These light settings can help calm anxiety, reduce depression and SAD symptoms, help with sleep disorders, enable greater focus, and much more! This lamp is designed to give your mind a sense of peace, all while looking sleek on your desk! It is also bright enough to illuminate your desk fully, and the hot pink color setting adds a factor of fun!
The lamp has a laser cut box that holds the arduino, and etched on the front is a butterfly. The lights are inside the arch with holographic butterflies glued around it, which illuminate and reflect the light. The touch sensor is located in the center of the arch, and is easily accessible and noticeable for users.
Below you can find the process of production for Diversifly...
This process includes my initials sketches, foam core prototype, function prototype, and aesthetic prototype.
Below is a video of my functional prototype: when I initially coded the lights
As you look further you will find a video of the functionality of the lamp in its natural setting: a desk.
You will also find pictures of the lamp functioning on a desk as well!
Lastly, included below is each color setting that the lamp provides to help aid your mind and bring a sense of peace.
