Vyborg (Finnish Viipuri, Swedish Viborg, German Wiburg) is a city in Russia, the administrative center of the Vyborg Municipal District of the Leningrad Region.
Forms the Vyborg urban settlement [3] [4] (MO "City of Vyborg" [5]) as the only settlement in its composition.The city is located on the coast of the Vyborg Bay, located in the north-eastern part of the Gulf of Finland. It is a major economic, industrial and cultural center of the Leningrad region, a port on the Baltic, an important junction of highways and railways.
Vyborg, founded in the Middle Ages, since 2010 is the only historical settlement on the territory of the Leningrad region. Among the sights are Vyborg Castle, Alvar Aalto Library, Mon Repos Park. In total, more than three hundred different monuments are concentrated in Vyborg: architectural, historical, sculptural, archaeological, landscape art. Since March 2010 - "City of Military Glory".
