Prosthetic Socket Redesign

Master's Degree Thesis in Design and Engineering
Improving Usability and Perception of Upper limb Myoelectric Prostheses
For my master’s Degree Thesis I was given the opportunity to work in collaboration with the research group “Soft Robotics for Human Cooperation and Rehabilitation” guided by Professor Antonio Bicchi at IIT. Their mission is to design and control the next generation of robots: soft, gentle, strong, and capable of interacting closely with humans moving safely, naturally, and efficiently. The thesis has been conducted under the supervision of Prof. Giuseppe Andreoni and PhD Maria Fossati.
Main objective
Redesign SoftHand Pro's socket

Research
Emphatize with users
I have conducted first and secondary research to collect opinions, pain points and opportunities from the users of upper limb prostheses and, secondly, direclty from the main tester of SoftHand PRO.
