"Innovation" Typography Project

Brainstorming
Technology was very helpful during the entire creative process for this project. Pintrest was very helpful website when gathering inspiration from things made in Adobe Illustrator. I was able to find similar projects, really creative ideas for my background, and see how people mixed sizes of text together to make an interesting piece of work. Pintrest also had a really nice tutorial to show the best way to use the shapebuilder tool. Behance was also helpful. The people I follow on the site often do typographic designs. I was able to look at similar projects. Looking at the pieces on Behance, I was able to see how to make the text readable, without making it hard to see what the picture is supposed to be. I was also able to sketch based on other pieces I really liked.

Execution
If this technology did not exist, the inspiration process would have taken much longer. I would have needed to go out, into the real world, and find examples of typography in advertisements. There may also be some books I could have found that gave me the same type of instructions to make the design look good.

Reflection
Technology enables me to keep the work of other amazing artists. Things like the basic photo viewer allow me to zoom in on the different types of the project and allow me to really study how they designed their projects, without needing the original file in my hands. It also allows me to “copy” the work of others when they allow for use in other work. Being able to outline the facial features of a picture of a person makes the entire thing look much more like Steve Jobs. If there was not free use for that photo, I would not have been able to base my work off of that image.
