AMD 317 Sketch #3 Wrinkles
For my wrinkles sketch, I wanted to demonstrate wrinkles in a different way than we typically associate them. Wrinkles are often looked at as ugly or unsightly, however, they are actually quite beautiful and natural. I first began this project with my bed sheets, I noticed the ways the folds reminded me of water, or even mountains, and I thought about how these natural forms translate into organic materials. Compared with the forms of my hand and the wrinkles in the plant's leaves, we see how natural wrinkles are around us in the everyday. I wanted to showcase the wrinkles as much as possible through my photos so I chose to use mostly one light source in my photos, the bed sheets using natural light from my window and for my hand and the plant, I used a single lamp. I hope my photos help provide new a way of looking at wrinkles that showcases them as natural and beautiful rather than the outlook society currently has on them.
