Location - Old city of Bhopal MP (India)

Bhopal is the city of lakes, but also the city of gates. There are numerous old gates across the city, so many of which doesn't remain standing but some does. These gates tell the story of Bhopal. As a native here, I have travelled the old streets, busy areas alot. But finding these gates was a challenge for myself. I had to roam, ask and travel like a tourist in my own town which definitely gave me a perspective.
Dost Mohammed khan made a walled city in 1722AD called Diwar E Khaas for which the Gates served the purpose of marking the areas. The wall was estimated to be around 6kms long. There was a structure to the whole ancient town, which is now only in History but still remain a popular landmark.
I have covered Jumerati gate, Islami gate, Imami gate, Sadar Manzil Gate, Bhopal Shaheed and Teen mohre Gate. I chose lightrails as a concept for this because it shows how busy these streets and walled markets are, and the traffic passing through the gates shows the story of bhopal in a very unique way. The contrast of an historic place with an urban setting was what I was trying to capture.
