O que é o trabalho: ilustrações para um livro infantil impresso, cujo tema é a relação entre humanos e natureza.
What is the work: illustrations for a printed children's book, whose theme is the relationship between humans and nature.
Título do trabalho: "Floresta de quê?"
Title of work: "Forest of what?"
Técnica utilizada: aquarela tradicional (em papel 300 g/m², 100% algodão e textura fina, e aquarela profissional).
Technique used: traditional watercolor (on 300 g/m² paper, 100% cotton and fine texture, and professional watercolor).

Briefing: ilustrações para o público infantil e infanto-juvenil, com liberdade de criação, conforme o número de ilustrações estabelecido pela autora do texto, e conforme o próprio conteúdo do texto. A orientação era que houvesse uma integração entre ser humano e natureza, não apenas na interação mas na representação. Alguns personagens poderiam estar tão conectados que seriam uma coisa só (como a primeira imagem, em que os cabelos são vegetação). Outros seriam plenamente integrados, sem a necessidade de objetos construídos por mãos humanas (como é o caso do menino na rede de folha de bananeira). A autora pediu para que eu criasse ilustrações e também sugerisse propostas para cada um dos textos.
Este trabalho está em andamento, aguardando o resultado do processo seletivo do qual está fazendo parte. O texto é de autoria de Tina Souza, e as letras do texto, feitas a mão, são de autoria de Nelson Luis Smythe Jr, designer gráfico.
Briefing: illustrations for children and young people, with freedom of creation, according to the number of illustrations established by the author of the text, and according to the text content itself. The orientation was that there should be an integration between human being and nature, not only in interaction but in representation. Some characters could be so connected that they would be one thing (like the first image, where the hair is vegetation). Others would be fully integrated, without the need for objects constructed by human hands (as is the case with the boy in the banana leaf hammock). The author asked me to create illustrations and also suggest proposals for each of the texts.
This work is in progress, awaiting the result of the selection process of which it is taking part. The text is authored by Tina Souza, and the text letters, made by hand, are authored by Nelson Luis Smythe Jr, graphic designer.
As três imagens acima trazem os processos de criação e esboço. A primeira ideia foi um menino em uma rede, mas com o trabalho em conjunto com Tina, a autora do texto, surgiu a ideia do menino em uma folha de bananeira, em uma relação mais simbiótica entre humanos e natureza.
The three images above bring the creation and sketch processes. The first idea was a boy in a hammock, but working together with Tina, the author of the text, came the idea of the boy in a banana leaf, in a more symbiotic relationship between humans and nature.
