Augmented Reality Whale Shark

Introduction
The article that has been transformed into an augmented reality experience is one written by Laura Goertzel based off of a Whale Shark and all the general information about this unique species.
The National Geographic Society has supported the most talented people working to advance scientific knowledge and our understanding of the world for more than 130 years. The National Geographic Explorers are still pushing the boundaries of knowledge, learning new things about the natural and cultural worlds, and deepening our connection to them and one another. Our historic commitment to dauntless exploration dates back to our founding in 1888 when 33 eminent scholars and scientists founded an organization dedicated to the “increase and diffusion of knowledge.”
Process Work
Below is my Blender and Aero process work showing the 3D models I have made and sent through to Aero for the final AR product
Aero Workspace Video
When it came to my execution of it all I wanted to create a unique underwater experience for the viewer that could view from their phone anywhere, the POV is from the ocean floor and they can look around at the coral around them, the animated seaweed and plants moving with the current of the water as well as the huge animated whale shark swimming above them with a small animated diver swimming besides it to create a sense of scale and size of how big the actual whale shark is, I also added an animated octopus besides the viewpoint as well to create a fun aspect to the AR experience, It relates well to the article because there is 2 Trigger points of proximity when the viewer enters them pop up cards appear with information on them relating back to what the article is about, and right above the point of view there is an ocean top to create a sense of depth for the viewer
