The Moscow River Age explores the human-river relationship and presents a timeline of stories between 1919 and 2119.
Scope of work: Sound design, music creation
My task was to create 4 abstract music compositions, each with a duration of 2 hours, to imagine how the Moscow river would sound in 2070, and what sounds there would be heard. According to the project’s idea, in the future people will stop using the Moscow River for industrial purposes and will become more environmentally responsible. Therefore, in 2070 the water in Moscow river will be clean and suitable for recreation. That is why, in the process of writing music compositions I used the sounds of nature, people swimming, and the noise of wind. Also, in my childhood I was strongly influenced by cyberpunk, science fiction and animation films. So, to reproduce the atmosphere of the future, I collected the sounds of industrial machines, demolition hammers, drills, motors, computers and changed them with effects to try to create the noise of the future megapolis. But in reality, I wish that with new technologies humanity would make less noise and less sounds. To complete this task, I used freely available audio recordings from freesound.org users. In most cases, freesound.org users are people who record different sounds in different places in a free time, to represent the atmosphere of that place. Besides samples of audio recordings, I used several electronic instruments to create more rhythmic sounds.

Okhotka is a seafood restaurant in Moscow.
I was invited to participate in the creation of an audio guide for the flagship restaurant. My task was to create nine small musical compositions with actors' voices. The interior of the restaurant was supposed to be very minimalistic, with lots of art objects. With this in mind, I created a minimalistic melody on the piano, and added samples of nature sounds and sound effects.
