Herb-a-ceous Natural Herbal Tea is a concept I developed for a school project. I created a logo, multiple branding pieces, packaging, and a point of purchase display.

Herb-a-ceous Natural Herbal Tea was inspired by a love for herbal teas and a love of nature and the earth.

Herbaceous Natural Herbal Teas are loose leaf teas and are 100% natural. They contain all-natural herbs and flavors and contain no artificial colors or preservatives.

Herbaceous Natural Herbal Teas is an environmentally aware and socially conscious company. They print their boxes on 100% recycled paperboard with 35% post-consumer content. They also support fair wages and sustainable harvests in more than 35 countries

I wanted to create a package that was unique but versatile in that it could be displayed in more than one position and still have all the important information and branding viewable from any direction. A triangular shape was the natural choice. The angles also contrast well against the roundness of the logo and chosen font.

I chose a kraft colored cardstock for the packaging that has a little visual texture to it to create a natural, earthy feel. The chosen ink colors are bolder colors to catch the eye, are complimentary to create continuity throughout, and are reflective of each tea’s flavor.

A die-cut window was a must as loose-leaf tea is a visually beautiful product and showing it off was necessary. The shape of the window reflects the shape of the leaves in the logo. I added the inset at the front of the package to, again, add uniqueness as well as soften the front angle a little bit. It adds a great location to display the logo and also reflects the leaf shape in the logo.
