The point of least distance is a book of visual poetry that sprung from recurring bouts of nostalgia. It recalls the artist’s formative years and youth spent growing up in a large joint family that shared space in a small house. A fortuitous building redevelopment initiative meant a chanceto own a bigger place. While the artist stayed with friends close to his workplace, his parents took up temporary residence in a suburb of Mumbai, where his father passed on before he could see his new home. The artist revisits his memories and attempts to recreate assorted objects that were closely associated with his late father. The book is a homage to the unfulfilled longing that his father carried with him.
