Recruiting for Ohio State football has become an aggressive business model under the watchful eye of new Head Coach Urban Meyer. Mailers are sent to potential recruits every week. The dominant audience are high school males who are eligible to play football at The Ohio State University. New, eye-catching imagery has replaced the generic, forgettable mailers dispatched under the previous football administration. Vivid colors and powerful images reinforce the people, the tradition, and the excellence that Ohio State stands for.

I created the new look for Ohio State’s recruiting flyers, keeping in mind the limitations of in-house printing. The flyers are printed on high quality paper but cannot be printed edge to edge. A textured, “tough” border was implemented to overcome this printing limitation and make the flyers more rugged. The goal is to showcase the elements of what makes Ohio State’s football program so successful: the players themselves.
