This advertisement was created as a proof of concept for a new kind of Mini Site. A Mini Site is an ad type that is used on the frontpage of the website GamersNET. It is an expendable ad and usually features several buttons and/or a trailer. With this Mini Site I wanted to create more engagement and interaction with the user. The style of this ad is baed on that of the official website of the game.

 

In The Elder Scrolls Online there are three alliances: the Aldmeri Dominion, the Ebonheart Pact and the Daggerfall Covenant. Each alliance has its own motivation and races. This Mini Site shows the user which alliance would be the best match for him/her. This is done by asking the user several questions, most of them related to the game.

 

For an example, there is the question below, where the use is asked what his/her alliance is fighting for. The answers correspond with what the alliances are fighting for in the game itself.

There are three possible results. In the window which shows the results the official artwork for that faction is used. The emblem for that faction is also used and the color of the text that shows the name of the alliance that best suits the player also matches, as can be seen below. There is also a button that will lead the user to a page with more information about the chosen alliance on the official website of this game.

Because I wanted to give the user an indication of what choice he/she is making, the emblems in front of the answers correspond to the alliance related to that answer. Also, when moving the cursor over the emblem/answer, the color related to that alliance is used, as can be seen below.
