Study of pattern.  This piece was created with a simple 1" x 1" graphic that was then repeated multiple times in order to create an intricate pattern.  The graphic was rotated and each time it was repeated, certain parts of it were elected to be painted black while the rest was left white.  The theory behind this study is the same as we get from Conway's Game of Life;  Simple things can make something great.
