REVERSE CULTURE SHOCK
This representation of reverse culture shock is divided into three stages. Immersion. Reversion. Reacclimatization.

Immersion is the experience a person has when they first enter a new culture or environment. Feelings such as nervousness, sadness, and loneliness are just a few emotions that can be experienced when going somewhere new. These feelings are represented in shades of blue inside of the ball. The ball is a representation of me. The various shapes represent the people and environment in Palestine. The buildings in Palestine consist of limestone; since it is a desert, the colors are warm colored shapes.
Reversion happens once a person leaves that same culture or environment they entered. Once I left Palestine, I kept with me my new experiences and new friends and family. The warm colored rings surrounding the blue ball represent those people I met and my experiences while I was in Palestine. The colors are taken from colored shapes. The ball is emerging from the shapes, which represents my return home.
Reacclimatization is the process of settling back into your original environment. Once I was back in the states, I reacclimatized to my home but wasn’t the same person. I kept the friendships I made, and the experiences changed my views on certain aspects of my life. The blue ball still has warm colored rings because I didn’t forget everything I experienced in Palestine. I gained so much in my time there, and it will always stay with me. The grey and dull colors represent the people at home. I used those colors because they contrast the warm colors of the rings around the blue ball representing me.
