'Pixelab' is a brand new arcade located in Hanoi, Vietnam. This newest space is designed in a retro style with a series of high-tech entertainment games for all ages. You may ask "Why arcade machine? Is it too old now?" Well, there’s no doubt that arcade machine is getting old and they are gradually forgotten. But thanks to its unique blend of excitement and nostalgia, this form of entertainment will have a chance to comeback, that's the reason why 'Pixelab' appears, to bring back the golden age of the arcade once again.
The name 'Pixelab' comes from Pixel game and laboratory. Promises to become a 'laboratory' where all the joy are created for players.
The logomark idea comes from the acarde machine. From the logo, we can see the 'P X L' inside the monitor, it's the first 3 letters when pronouncing the brand name 'Pi-Xel-Lab'.
Our brand has 9 colors in total which is restricted to the palette below, black and white can also be used. This gives the brand a very unique look and feel the dynamic energy. Moreover, these colors can be matched by game genre such as fiction, fighting and space,....
Pixelab visual identity is inspired by the electronic circuit board. All the pieces are individually designed and put together to form a complete circuit board, these can be easily splitted into smaller pieces.
Our visual identity relies heavily on the use of colors. The palette consists a complementary range of colors that work well in almost any combination.
There is a message hidden in our visual identity - the word 'UP'
'1UP' means An Extra Life in a gaming context. The term '1UP' came to prominence with the Super Mario games. It is now commonly used by gamers to denote they have been rewarded with "An Extra Life". Also, 'UP' means to LEVEL UP, to progress to the next level of player character stats and abilities, often by acquiring experience points in role-playing games. This is an easter egg that we created to surprise players.
At Pixelab, not only players can play the game they love, but they can also win prizes by playing it through many events. The biggest one named 'PIXFIGHT', it's the event that every players at all age can participate, they will be competing each other to become a CHAMPION. The player who has the highest score in 3 legendary games Space Invaders, Street fighters and Donkey Kong wins the prize.
