About: Website designed and built for Scuba@, a curated brand within GoVacation Africa.
GoVacation Africa is a full-service destination management company specialising in inbound travel to Southern and Eastern Africa. Their portfolio offers guided tours, safaris, camping, self-drive, and lots more. Scuba@ was established to offer tailor-made scuba diving experiences.

Scuba@’s website is essentially a site within a site and its purpose is to help promote GoVacation’s scuba diving experiences.

My vision for this website was to create an undersea feel and effect. And it is for this reason, that I chose to use one seamless background on the home page.  At the same time, I also wanted the background to tell a story: Starting from the top with the diver at the boat, and as he descends downwards, he (as does the reader on the website) experiences marine life such as the shark, turtle, and jellyfish until he reaches the bottom.
The site is built with a number of custom posts (divers and experiences) and with dynamic content to display the posts in a custom design. One reason for using custom posts for the site is that additional posts, particularly for the experiences and destinations, can be easily added anytime.

I chose images with lots of bright and striking colours. The icons on the destination pages are all custom-designed and are based on each of the banners at the top of each destination page e.g. South Africa features a seal and therefore a seal icon. I placed Scuba@’s telephone number and email address in the sidebar as well as a contact form to make it easy for visitors to the site to make enquiries.
