Neither Mother nor Earth
Ni madre ni tierra cuestiona el dualismo de la naturaleza y la mujer como seres vulnerables que pueden ser abusadas, violentadas o disminuidas. Cuando se habla del medio ambiente, también se discute del lugar que ocupan las mujeres en nuestra sociedad marcada por el dominio masculino.
Ni la mujer ni la naturaleza son “recursos naturales” o “bosques vírgenes” disponibles que están a la espera de ser agotados o dominados. La madre tierra, entonces, ha sido una asociación peligrosa que ha contribuido a silenciar a las mujeres y destruir la naturaleza.
Ni madre ni tierra explora una relación de independencia y singularidad, una relación que posibilita una libertad autónoma que separa el dualismo violento. Reivindica a la mujer sin miedo y al territorio sin propiedad. A la madre dueña de su propio cuerpo y a la tierra de su propia naturaleza ecológica.
Neither mother nor earth questions the dualism of nature and women as vulnerable beings that can be abused, violated or diminished. When we talk about the environment, we also talk about the place that women occupy in our society marked by male domination.
Neither women nor nature are available “natural resources” or “virgin forests” waiting to be depleted or mastered. Mother Earth, then, has been a dangerous association that has contributed to silencing women and destroying nature.
Neither mother nor land explores a relationship of independence and singularity, a relationship that enables an autonomous freedom that separates violent dualism. It vindicates the woman without fear and the territory without property. To the mother owner of her own body and to the earth of its own ecological nature.
