Located in a historic mid-century building in downtown Msheireb, Liwan Design Studios and Labs offers a unique space committed to supporting and connecting Qatar's burgeoning creative community. Named after the serene courtyard at the centre of the space, Liwan Design Studios and Labs is situated in the mid-century building that once housed Qatar's first girls' school. Liwan's building is a classic example of mid-century modern architecture and a landmark institution in local history. It pays tribute to Qatar's architectural, social, and educational history.
The illustrations of this publication were designed to capture its history and unique architectural structure that once held a great significance for the previous generations and now serves as a creative hub for the newer generation.
