WHAT IS A MENSTRUAL CUP?

A menstrual cup is a type of reusable feminine hygiene product. It’s a small, flexible funnel or bell-shaped cup made of rubber or silicone that you insert into your vagina to catch and collect period fluid.

Cups can hold more blood than other methods, leading many women to use them as an eco-friendly alternative to disposable pads or tampons. And depending on your flow, you can wear a cup for up to 12 hours.
The ecological waste brought about by the improper waste disposal practices of non-reusable menstrual products, such as sanitary pads and tampons, contributes to the ever-growing plastic pollution in the country. The ban on single-use plastics has become a call for action nowadays, there have been a lot of movements and advocacies for it to fight the crisis on climate change and menstrual products should not be missed out on.
With this three-day event concept, it aims to bridge Filipino Women to reusable Menstrual products, specifically the menstrual cup, and to bring awareness about Zero Waste Menstruation, for women to bleed freely into a sustainable future. The target market is females ages 18 to 40 years old, who are students in senior high school and college, and adults who are already working.
