Pillaroan - Brand Identity



About
Pillaroan is a joint body of student government across a wide range of institutions that is empathetic and kind, with the aim of providing financial ease for students in higher institutions. It is a student loan platform that connects students with high and admirable academic achievements to individual and cooperate platforms willing to fund them. With easy and accessible loans, pillaron provides little or no interest rate for students with payments span for over a long period of time.
Challenge
Loans are primarily granted to student based on certain criteria by student bodies in universities and colleges which comes with interest rates at the end of its maturity. Pillaroan believes that's an issue and wants to solve that challenge, thus they need to be visually appealing in that sense. They want a design system that is serious-fun, approachable and empathetic; an identity that not only represents students but intersects both the student and skater-holders together.

Goal
To create an identity that represents the brand as a whole, while standing out of current and future competitors.


The Iconic Mark
Pillaroan aimed at creating not just a one sided approach to its target market, but for both ends of the target market. To create balance, using basic geometry shape was implemented; Pillar, which signifies support and “oan”, from the word Loan. From a broader point of view, the icon depicts a platform to receive which is represented by the hollow space, also and importantly a point of intersection between both the students and stakeholders.
 
 
Brand Architecture
They also designed platforms specifically for both core markets. Many of which decision making, collaborative efforts, cooperate support, educational updates and various meeting activities takes place. This goes as far as organized  meetings specifically on-site and on-line for both target markets.

Brand Systems
The brand systems were built on the brand’s values and perception of association, community, trust and care by the body. The colors were a good fit for expressing those perceptions and for representing each sub- brands as an individual entity. Also the use of sharp edge geometry which represents seriousness for the icons, patterns and layout structure across all touch points.​​​​​​​
