BeIN Sports - Grand Slam Maths

One of the key pillars of BeIN Sports' tennis branding campaign was to try and engage audiences in different ways. Sound Slam focused on audio cues and this project, Grand Slam Maths concentrated on dishing out brain teasers.

The idea was this, take a couple of tennis stars and make an equation out of the number of Grand Slam titles they won. For example, how many Grand Slam singles titles have the Williams sisters won overall? (Answer = 30)

We looked to engage the audience by asking them to figure out the answer by A) remembering how many titles the stars in the spot won and the B) using that information to solve the equation.  Once the answer was revealed a breakdown of how many wins and where they were won were presented to give the audience some trivia points about the featured players.

To ensure that the concept has a long shelf life it was designed to work as a template so that more equations with different players could easily be produced and published.

Grand Slam Maths is now running on BeIN's on-air and social channels across South-East Asia with localised versions for Thailand and Indonesia.

I came up with the idea, scripted, edited, mastered and produced all the Grand Slam Maths spots. The English version was voiced by the indefatigable Ian 'Lofty' Fulton, the graphics were made by the stupendous Samuel Er, the audio mix was done by Suite Sound and the creative manager was Durai Ramanathan.
