The brief asked us to inform the existing Royal Court Theatre audience of the journey that the writers and their plays go on, before they reach the stage.
I devised the concept of ‘putting the writer in the spotlight’ – rather than the putting the actors in the spotlight, it was time for the writers to take centre stage. I formed a poster campaign around this idea by visually representing a spotlight, highlighting each stage of the writer’s process.
