Sirin

About

Sirin is a slavic folklore character. She is half-woman half-bird and one of the paradise birds, who sings the songs about upcoming bliss. Every man, who has heard that songs, can never forget them and usually loses his mind. Sirin is afraid of loud noises, so people used to ring the bells in attempts to save themselves.

For inspiration i used the book of Neil Gaiman "American gods" and tried to show how the almost forgotten character is trying to survive in the modern world.

Preparations

For the clothings i used the idea from the Bloodborne game character "Eileen the Crow". Her coat made the silhouette to look like a bird, so i decided to mix it with kimono design, to make sleeves look much longer than arm. Holes in the sleeves make my character to be able to use her hands.

Coat was modified to look like the modern clothing.

Makeup and total look

Used specific makeup to make eyes look more birdy and to make cheekbones look sharper.

I used a bodysuit with open collarbones to make a contrast between bird and human parts. Every part of the clothings is black to make them look whole with the coat.

Story

As i said earlier, i tried to show how the character adapts to the new world. So my paradise bird is a street musician. She sings to earn something for the living and be remembered. Her songs are not so powerful anymore, but she still hates loud noises and bell ringing.
