Don Justino is over 70 years old, he has lived all his life in the mountains, in the heart of the Sierra de Quila in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. Don Justino took us to the top of the mountains, to a place called Piedras Blancas, where he told us the stories of bandits that hid in those caves during the "Cristero War" (from 1926 to 1929) as well as stories of the devil tempting to some absent-minded person who got lost in the woods.These photographs were taken during scouting for a short film in which the main character is inspired by Don Justino, a brave and strong man, forged in the old way and with a wisdom and sensitivity about nature and the world that makes him unique.
