For this project each group was assigned a specific section of a big box electronic retail store, utilizing the Discover and Define stage of the double diamond process. Our group of four was given the task of researching the gaming section and converging on the main problems.
Primary Research
Our primary research was based on observations using the "fly on the wall" method.
We visited three different stores that offered gaming consoles to their customers:
• Best Buy
• HH Gregg
• Game Stop
• HH Gregg
• Game Stop
We focused mainly on Best Buy because it had a much larger dedicated section in comparison to HH Gregg's two shelves and encompassed the big box retail experience than Game Stop. To gain more specific data we used questionnaires and interviews.
