This project was created as part of an Art Direction course in Visual Communication studies. As part of the project we were asked to build a photography set inspired by an artist. We chose to create our set inspired by Rene Magritte. Magritte is a surrealist artist and deals mainly with everything related to illusions. Sometimes he chooses to contradict physical forces, challenges the laws of nature and raises philosophical questions.
In our project we wanted to use Magritte's visual images to create two worlds - a natural world and a supernatural world. Our images catch the viewer asking themselves what is real and what they imagine.
